Northwood Cocobolo OOO

If you've read some other guitar write-ups on our site, or watched some of our videos, you know that I'm a sucker for cocobolo. It's invariably beautiful, and I think it makes any guitar sound better. I had John McQuarrie build me a Cocobolo Mini Jumbo last year, and that may have been the best Northwood we've ever had in the shop. So, of course, it was a natural choice to put it on one of our other favorite guitars, the Northwood OOO.

As expected, cocobolo does magic with this guitar—it adds thickness to the lows, mids and highs, preserving the Dalbergia lushness, but adding just a bit of chunk that can only come from great Cocobolo. I ordered this guitar before Bob Taylor spread the word about the troubles with the Cocobolo trade, so this will be the last one of these in our shop for the foreseeable future.
