Northwood Custom MJ (Engelmann/cocobolo)
I'll admit it: I'm a sucker for cocobolo. It is my favorite tonewood, both for tone and appearance. And so last year I went on a cocobolo spree, ordering guitars from a number of our builders. Of course, as much as we love the Northwood mini jumbo, it was only natural that I'd be giving John a call, asking him to track down a great set.
Of course, he obliged, and the result was a Northwood like none I've ever played—the cocobolo gave it a fatness and clarity that were just like the regular rosewood models, but more, and better.
