Seymour Duncan Mag Mic

I honestly have no idea why this pickup tends to fly so low under the radar, given the Seymour Duncan name and our long history selling their acoustic pickups. While magnetic soundhole pickups will never be accused of truly natural tone, they definitely serve a purpose, with great string response and dynamics, and rock-solid feedback resistance. In combination with an airier pickup—or a mic, as in this pickup—their tone can be heavenly. Just have a listen to Aerial Boundaries (or remember Hedges live onstage) for proof.

There are very few all-in-one mic+mag combos, and Seymour Duncan's is, to my ear, the best of the bunch. The mag side isn't as electric sounding as, say, the Fishman Rare Earth, leaving less acoustic heavy lifting for the hardwired mic. The blend is super easy—one dial for master volume, one for microphone—and the pickup can be installed temporarily or permanently. This is a great pickup that has the potential to make your live amplification a lot easier than you expected.
