Schertler DAVID

Schertler's recent renaissance has been built around improved designs of amps that have remained essentially static for many years. The latest is the DAVID, which calls on the long history of Schertler David amplifiers, but drops the price while upping the ante.

First, there's the inputs: 3 channels, impedance-sensing instrument inputs with gain LEDs on each channel (I've said it elsewhere, but every amp should have this). The controls:  Notch filter, adjustable DI out (very rare), mute switch. Plus, the reverb has upgraded from spring (yes, I know some folks still prefer a spring) to digital. This is all in all a worthy upgrade, and a steal at $799.

Wonderful acoustic amp

Most impressed by how clean and natural the sound is - especially to an audiphiles ear! Nicely made and looks good in the living room besides easy to travel with. I really apprecite the enginnering in the design and being able to read the controls. Full sound but still a small amp so room size is lmitited - certainly woujld work in a coffee house type venue.
