Shoreline Music: Acoustic Guitars
The Shoreline Music 100% Satisfaction Money-Back Guarantee

The Shoreline Music satisfaction guarantee has been the same for over 10 years: We want you to like whatever you buy from us. If you don't like it--for any reason--feel free to send it back within 10 days of receipt, and we'll gladly refund your money. The recent trend in the online guitar business, however, has been to make satisfaction guarantees more and more restrictive, with more and more fine print. For instance, while some guarantees may last 45 days or longer, their lists of exceptions are so long as to render them meaningless. And many stores seem to be offering satisfaction guarantees, but not money-back guarantees, which means that if you buy something that's broken, they'll issue you a store credit, but they won't issue you a refund. And finally, some guarantees promise to offer a "risk free" shopping experience, but have so many exclusions and additional fees that the experience seems rather the opposite. With so many guarantees like that floating around out there, we figured it was worth articulating the details of what we offer, so you can see just how different purchasing from Shoreline Music can be.

Our guarantee covers literally everything we sell, but here are a few specifics:

Guitars

It seems like internet guitar stores are becoming less and less concerned about getting great instruments to customers, with some proclaiming unapologetically that "playability is subjective" and refusing to guarantee unplayable guitars. We figure, if you've just spent $2000 or more on a guitar, it better be a great instrument right out of the box. Sure, playability and setup can be affected by changes in humidity and such, but not so much as to render a guitar unplayable the first time you pick it up. Every guitar we ship gets a new set of strings (usually John Pearse) and a thorough inspection before it heads out the door, with minor setup adjustments if necessary. You'd think that this would be the bare minimum you would expect from a truly professional guitar store, but this practice has become rare enough in the online world that it's worth mentioning again. And, of course, no matter what instrument you buy from us, it is totally guaranteed. It doesn't matter whether it's new or used, custom or stock: If you've just spent several thousand dollars on your dream guitar, you want it to be great. We want it to be great. And so every instrument we sell is covered by our guarantee. No exceptions. If you don't like it after 10 days with the instrument, just send it back. There is no other guarantee like this anywhere.

Pickups

Our pickup guarantee is also unlike any other in the guitar business. Consider the following: Most guitar stores will not accept returns for guitar electronics that have been opened or installed (some even go so far as to refuse any pickup returns at all). But with rare exception, it's impossible to hear how a pickup sounds in your guitar without actually installing it. So a 100% satisfaction guarantee for pickups is meaningless unless it actually covers installed pickups. How else can you tell if you are in fact satisfied with the pickup? With this in mind, every pickup we sell is covered by our guarantee. When you get your pickup, stick it in and try it out for a gig. If it sounds great, then you're happy, and we're happy. If it doesn't, then feel free to send it back within 10 days and we'll refund your cost, or let you credit it toward another pickup.

Strings

The reasoning behind our pickup guarantee also applies to strings--without actually opening the strings and trying them on your guitar, it's impossible to tell if you are indeed satisfied with them. So, try out the strings you order from us. If you don't like them, send them back within 10 days, and we'll refund your cost. Even for opened sets.

Amps

We stand behind every amp we carry, whether it's an acoustic amp or bass amp. Not literally, of course--it would be mighty annoying to have a bunch of extra guys onstage with you--but we do want you to love your gear as much as we do. So if your amp just isn't the right fit for you, simply send it back within 10 days.
