Focusrite Scarlett Solo

  • While the Scarlett 2i2 is our bestselling interface, there is much to like about Focusrite's entry-level model, the Scarlett Solo you see here. This 2nd-generation version features essentially the same technical specs as the 2i2—gain, dynamic range, etc—but shaves $40 off the price.

What you lose relative to the 2i2 is the extra mic and instrument inputs, but if you're a solo player using one mic and one guitar, then the Solo really is all you need to start making great recordings in your home studio. I've said in other listings that I'm a bit envious of today's younger musicians—I like to imagine that if I only had better recording gear like these Scarlett interfaces, my music career would have really taken off.
