I've said in other places that the Taylor 114e is one of the best bang-for-your-buck guitars anywhere. For just a little more than the GS Mini, you get a full sized guitar that sounds great. It certainly sounds better than the first guitar I ever purchased 35 years ago, not to mention any number of guitars that cost a lot more.
Now, the simplest way to improve that bang-per-buck fraction is to decrease the denominator, which in this case is the price. So, in response to popular demand, Taylor has released the 114, which is the same guitar as the 114e, but without onboard electronics, and a price tag under $500. This may make it officially the bang-for-buckest guitar you'll find.
