When Taylor introduced their mahogany-topped standard guitars last year, there was much rejoicing here at Shoreline Music. On every model we've had the chance to play, the mahogany is a great match for the Taylor build. There's something about the enhanced mids of a mahogany top that really bring a welcome balance and fulness to all of these.
Perhaps the biggest surprise was the 32X lineup. Mahogany over sapele is not the first wood combo that comes to mind when you start looking for responsive, sparkly, full tone, but the mahogany+sapele Taylors have all that. The 322 puts this wood combination on our favorite Taylor body style, and the result is a great fingerstyler, with just a little extra guts for some light strumming, too. It's worth a serious look.
