If you've read through our guitar listings or watched our videos, you've undoubtedly run across my reviews of the Taylor 812. When Taylor threw caution to the wind and totally redesigned their flagship 800 series in 2014, I was among the first—and still among the few—to insist that the Grand Concert version of this guitar, the 812, was the best of the bunch. It got the most love of all the redesigned instruments, with the thinnest top ever on a Taylor guitar. You can check out the 812 listing here.
It's hard to believe, but the 12-fret version of this guitar may very well top the original—with an expanded low end because of the lower placement of the bridge, the 12-fret 812 is versatile, responsive, great for strumming or fingerstyle. It's worth a serious look for any player.
