It seems like getting a used Brook in the shop is like sighting the Loch Ness Monster. Folks just don't part with these guitars, so to get your hands on a used one is a rare opportunity.
This Sitka Spruce and Yew Taw is in Very Good condition. Nearly no fretwear, virtually no play wear in the way of scratches, nicks, etc. The main issue is cosmetic: As the thinner finish on this guitar has aged it has dipped into the grain in several spots across the Sitka top. The builders at Brook say this can be entirely normal—it's the result of their thin finish reacting with the resins in the Sitka—but it should be noted.
Playability is typical Brook, and the Yew brings a sort of Walnut meatiness to the tone. This is a sweet instrument.
