This is one of Battiloro's Mutant models, meaning it has a bunch of extra notes. In this case, they all live on the bottom shell, both high notes and low notes. There's a tension when choosing a handpan: More notes mean more complexity, but also more possibility. I personally prefer the extra notes—I feel like each added note dramatically increases my available melodies.
The minor scale on the Demyan feels new to me, as if something about the selection of notes on the bottom shell has breathed new life into an otherwise more traditional scale. Of the Battiloro handpans that showed up in my most recent shipment from Italy, this is the one I'm drawn back to again and again.
