I first met Phillipp from Patera Handpans at the NAMM show in 2025. His enthusiasm for their handpans (and their cajons, which were also great) was infectious. I quickly discovered that we share similar tastes in handpan design and tone, and the first of his instruments that I picked up (a D-Kurd 13) won me over immediately.
Patera handpans all share some cool design features, including a nice woven rim protector and an unobtrusive, laser-etched note reference. These make a lot of sense as a first handpan based on their price, but are welcome addition to any collection.
