In the ever-present arms race of acoustic amplification, the challenge for the last decade or more has been to beat the bestselling K&K Pure Mini for ease of installation and natural tone. LR Baggs sent a shot across the bow with the introduction of the HiFi pickup system—it's easily instaled on the bridgeplate just like the Pure Mini, and it sounds fantastic.
But the next level is, of course, dual-sourcing with a mic, like the ever-popular Trinity. How does this stack up? I think it's fantastic—a worthy competitor the Trinity, with the added bonus of onboard electronics and easy installation. Anything with an onboard mic comes with the usual caveats about feedback, but as long as your stage isn't too loud, I think this is a great pickup.
