AER's Amp One really is a marvel of engineering. Of course, I suppose that could be said about any AER amp. One of the best bass combo amps I've ever taken onstage was the AER Basic Performer, and that amp isn't really even designed for electric bass. The Amp One, designed from the ground up to amplify electric bass, is, in my opinion, even better than that amp. It's small like the Compact 60—the amp weighs under 30 pounds—with a 10" speaker and 200 watts of power. The tone is clean and rich, with more than enough guts to handle most band settings; quite a pleasant surprise when you consider how small this thing is.
