Henriksen The Bud

  • We've been selling a lot of great amps for a long time, but The Bud from Henriksen is the first totally new acoustic amp in years that I think is truly worth a listen.

It's smaller than the AER Compact 60 (though not quite as light), so it's super-portable. It packs an astonishing 135 watts of clean, flat, punchy power, such that it will easily cover a small room or even larger venues. And check out this feature set:  Separate, identical preamps for its two channels, 48 volt phantom power, and really musical EQ (at least for the acoustic guitars I've run through this amp). You're going to love it.

Henrikson bud acoustic amp

Very deep and clear tone. Using an excellent eq section, most any sound can be made. Plenty of head room. Super light to carry and use outside of the home!

Nice step up from my Fishman Loudox Mini

The Bud is a great step up in plugged in sound for me from my Loudbox Mini which is also a great little amp. What I really like is that for quick recordings, I can take the EQ'd output from the BUD straight to my Zoom H5 recorder and get very good results (signal chain being guitar pickup to Tonedexter to BUD to Zoom or mic'd guitar to BUD to Zoom). The additional EQ on the BUD is very powerful. This is a great amp at this price point and the quality of the build is excellent. I like Made in USA too.

Fantastic Features

The Bud is one of the few acoustic guitar amps that also has two channels of 48v phantom power. It can drive both my large-diaphragm condenser mic and my phantom-powered Trance Amulet pickup. It's wonderfully portable and it sounds fantastic. Sold.

It is indeed one of the best small amps I have tried.

I have been searching for a small guitar amps for a long time. I was so glad that I finally tried the Bud. I have tried a semi-hollow guitar with P90 pickups, a martin acoustic, and a taylor GS mini with this amp. They all sound very descent. The sound is very clean. When the tweeter is turned off, I can easily get a very warm sound. The bud can easily cut through the mix. I played it against a very heavy drummer and a bass player, and the bud gave out more than enough volume. The 5 band EQ is very very useful. I can get the tone I want easily in all kind of rooms. The portability is great. I don't have to make several trips between the stage and my car anymore.

Great Acoustic Amp

The Bud was the final stop on a long journey to find the right acoustic amp. It's tone, power, clarity, and the "lack of weight" made it the perfect solution. John was wonderful to work with shipping other amps back and forth into the Midwest until we landed on the Bud. Could not be happier with his customer service and advice - The Bud is second to none!
