The introduction of Grado's top of the line PS-1000 headphones reminded many listeners of the classic Grado PS-1s, long-since discontinued. The catch is, those phones run $1700. So the introduction of a more affordable Prestige Series PS-500s a few years back was a welcome addition to the Grado lineup. The PS-500s have since become some of our most successful headphones, and I personally think they're the best headphone under $1000.
