As you know from reading our site and watching our videos, the Larrivee OM-40 guitars are our bestsellers. In the early years (so, like 2 years ago), the Mahogany version was flying out of here, but in the past year, the Rosewood version you see here has been the guitar of choice for many of our customers, more so than the Mahogany.
And why not? With just a bit more ring, resonance, and low end, Rosewood in this guitar makes it a very desirable choice. Less easy to ship internationally, of course, but all in all, this is a truly great instrument. And, of course, when we start selling lots of a particular model, I do my best to get variations on the theme, in this case a cutaway (a rarity in most Larrivee shops).
I'm also pretty sure that at 7 places this particular model has the longest designation of any Larrivee guitar: OM (orchestra model) 40 (40 series) R (rosewood) E (onboard electronics). That has to mean something, but I'm not quite sure what yet.
