The Rosewood Larrivee OM-03R, much like its Mahogany brethren, is very high on the "unexpectedly good" scale. I mean, it's hard enough to find a rosewood guitar that sells in the mid $1000s, but to find one that sounds this good is a real treat.
The 03-series Larrivees used to be just a step down from other models in terms of trim, but nowadays they boast bone nut and saddle and maple trim, a luxury at this price point. And the tone is everything you'd expect: superb balance, with just a bit more lush ring than the regular OM-03, courtesy those beautiful rosewood back and sides. As you'll discover when you watch the video below, this guitar's a keeper.
