D'Addario's premium uncoated acoustic string set provides a crisp and clear sound to accentuate the unique tone of your guitar. This string delivers the ideal balance of volume, projection, and comfortable playability.
Ok for Rosewood back & sides but to my ears, a better match for mahogany guitars. Love the feel and longevity as well. As always, excellent service from Shoreline!
I am historically a Phosphor Bronze light gauge player on my dreads. EJ16s to be exact. Love the feel and tone. But recently the strings have been tarnishing my fingers badly. Not a huge deal, but just annoying. I wanted to give the D’A nickel bronze a try, as I have heard they sound similar to PB but last longer and don’t bleed onto finger pads. Totally a believer. The nickel bronze is crisp and clear, a tad stiffer tension vs EJ16s, but worth it as they are louder. And they last way longer, yet not coated strings, which I think just feel lousy. I bet I can get 2 months on them, so totally worth 11.99 a set. Shoreline is the way to go too. We all know how fair and customer focused they are. That is no secret.
Really, give them a whirl. Way better than Martin retros that feel like electric guitar strings, the D’A nickel bronze still have a PB ish feel without the mess. And more sound. Give them a couple days to break in. But not necessary, they sound strong right out of the pack.
These seem to wear a good bit longer than traditional PB strings, and the low end is a little cleaner. I'm still experimenting with the standard light set v bumping up the two unwound strings to 17 and 13 similar to the Elixir HD set. But either way, they feel great, sound great, and last.

I saw these strings being used by Julian Lage on his custom Collins that just recently came out, so I put them on my 1991 Olson. Wow, these string are fully bodied and even from bass to treble. One of my fav chords to play is an Emaj9 w/in a 1-6-2-5 progression and these nickel bronze strings fit the bill quite nicely!
