I recently decided to give these Elixirs a try on my banjo, choosing the medium gauge set. After playing a few tunes I was pleasantly surprised by the tone emanating from the banjo. This is the first time I've used coated strings on my banjo (normally use John Pearse), and I was not disappointed with the sound and feel of the strings. I prefer the medium gauge on this instrument, as they are just a tiny bit stiffer than the lights. And, since I dislike re-stringing the banjo - trying to loop the one end at the tailpiece while maintaining tension on the string is agonizing - these Elixirs seem to be the answer for fewer string changes.
