The DT 1990 is the top of Beyerdynamic's Pro line of studio headphones. You can think of it as an upgrade to the already-amazing 900 Pro X, with open back, swappable cables, and a driver that delivers 30 Ω impedance, meaning you can use it on just about any device.
The driver in question is the new Tesla 45 driver, which delivers fantastic clarity and low distortion, even with large attack transients. These phones obviously aren't cheap, but they're listening heaven.
