Brook Torridge (mahogany)

The Torridge listed here features a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. It's a superlative fingerstyle guitar, with great playability, and, as with all Brooks, even tone up and down the neck. It will take some light strumming, too, but its real strength is as a quieter instrument. Be sure to check out Dennis Wakeman making this instrument sing.

Also, one of the things I really appreciate about Brook is their eagerness to use reclaimed woods to build their guitars. With tropical hardwoods more endangered than ever, this is a welcome change. The Mahogany in this guitar comes from an old door. If every old English door could be made to sound this good, you can bet that Taylor and Martin would beat a path to London in a heartbeat.
