Over the years, I've become a huge fan of Larrivee's -03 series guitars. They give you great tonewoods and construction at an affordable price. You do give up a few bits of trim, and of course the gloss finish, but when you hear how great these guitars sound, those considerations start to seem secondary.
The tone on this D-03 is remarkable—it is easily the best-sounding guitar that we sell in the $1000 range. It doesn't have a pickup like the 214CE, but for just a few more bucks, the tone is richer, fuller, with better clarity and character. If you're in the market for an affordable dreadnought, look no further than this Larrivee.
